"RingsLL" by Les Bentley.

Conforming Large Loop earrings for the Antonia 1.2 figure. They can to some extent be used with other figures, see further on in this document.

The rings feature 9 morphs for the loops, 4 alternate geometries, and pseudo-gravity. The rings were Tested in P6, they are expected to work in any current Poser version from P4 up.

INSTALLATION:
Extract the zip to to your main Poser folder, or to any folder directly under a Poser 'Runtime' folder. You will find the RingsLL figure in your Figures library, under Antonia > Clothing > Jewelry.

USE:
All the posing of the rings is controlled through the parameters palette in the Body actor of the RingsLL figure, you will not be able to pose the rings via the mouse cursor in the Document Window. The best way to describe how to use the rings is to walk you through a demonstration.

With the Antonia Polygon figure loaded in your scene, load the RingsLL figure and conform it to Antonia. Select the Body of the RingsLL figure. In the parameters palette for the Body, the first group "RingsLL" contains dials for rotation the rings, dials with the word "Contra" will rotate will rotate the rings in the opposite direction to each other. The last dial on the group "Gage" can be used to change the fatness of the earrings (not the loops). There are also "GRAVITY" dials, more about that later.

The second (collapsed) group "Loop_Morphs" contains dials for 9 morphs to change the shape of the loops.

The third group, "AltGeom", let's you chose between any one of four pendant geometries. None of the alternate geometries have any morphs. Setting the "AltGeom" dial to zero will remove all of the pendants, leaving you with just the earrings.

PSEUDO-GRAVITY:
The top two dials in the "RingsLL" group are "GRAVITY_Left" and "GRAVITY_Right". The GRAVITY dials are set to zero by default, if you set this dials to one, the rings will 'Point At' an invisible actor below the ground, thus posing themselves automatically to take account of gravity as Antonia is posed. The fly in the ointment here is that the rings will not respect solid objects and if Antonia is tilted too far to the side, the rings will fall through her neck. In such cases you will have to turn GRAVITY off, and pose the rings via the rotation dials. The gravity gets its direction from the y axis of the Body actor, which must remain vertical. If you were to tilt the Body actor by x or z rotating it, the pseudo-gravity would act in the wrong direction (yRotating the Body is no problem). GRAVITY will will take residence over any rotations that are set manually.

MATERIALS:
You will find files under Materials > LesBentley, to swap between gold, silver, and copper reflective materials "Gold_Reflect" (the default), "Silver_Reflect", and "Copper_Reflect". These files use reflection maps. They are mt5 files, and are not specific to the RingsLL, they will work on any currently selected material.

KNOWN ISSUES:
You may have problems if the Body of the target figure is rotated to exactly 180 degrees, one degree either side should be OK. This is a Poser issue and applies to all conformers.

The pseudo-gravity may experience problems if scaling is applied to the rings or pendants.

OTHER FIGURES:
The instructions that follow assume a zeroed pose for the target figure, but at a pinch you can also do it for a posed figure. To use the RingsLL with figures other than Antonia: Load the RingsLL, do NOT conform them. Use yTran in the Body of the RingsLL to move it so that the rings are at approximately the correct altitude and zTranslation for the ears of the target figure. Use 'Set Figure Parent' from the Figure menu to to parent RingsLL to the head of the target figure. Use the dials in the "Ring_Translation" group to make fine adjustments until the rings achieve an exact fit to the ears. Using Outline Document display Style, and orthogonal cameras such as the Front, Left, or Right Camera, may help you to achieve a good fit. The pseudo-gravity will not work correctly when RingsLL are used in this way, and should be left turned off.

LICENCE:
I place the files in this distribution in the public domain. You may do whatever you like with them. However it you try to sell these files, or modified versions of them, without significantly adding to their value by your own work, people (including me), will call you nasty names.

Les Bentley.
